Founded on February 5, 1997, the Center Sports Leagues are some of the oldest collection of Cyber Athletic Leagues in the History of the World. Despite its modest start in the dorm rooms of Rutgers University, the Leagues have continued to persist and grow as they adapt to the modern era. Now up to a total of six cyber sporting competitions a year, with presence on multiple social media sites the Center Sports Network remains the home of some of the fiercest and longest lasting gaming rivalries in all of e-sports.

Another Last Second Goal Give the Crush a Draw

As was the case in their first meeting, Mumbai City and Dave's Secret crush came down to a last minute goal by Mbappe, but this time it was only sufficient for the draw.

At the end of the 1st half in the 44th minute the ref awarded a penalty to Dave's Secret Crush (playing as France) and gave a yellow card to Ruben Dis for Mumbai City (playing as Manchester City). The penalty was taken by Mbappe, but was stopped by the Mumbai goalie, however he made up for it a minute later scoring a goal to give the Crush a lead going into the half.

Mumbai City answered shortly after the start of the 2nd half when Foden scored in the 50th minute. The contest stayed level until the 85th minute when Haaland gave Mumbai the lead and it looked as if they were going to walk out with the win. But, as he did in their first meeting, Mbappe scored in the last minue of the 2nd half to level the game and allow the Crush to escape with a point.

Mumbai City Loses in Nail Biter

They were scheduled to play the Red Card Renegade, but when he didn't show, Mumbai opted to be lenient and exchange his Week 7 game, playing Dave's Secret Crush instead. The game turned out to be an exciting back and forth affair that game down to the dying embers.

Mumbai City (playing as Manchester City) opened the scoring off the foot of De Bruyne in the 16th minute. Dave's Secret Crush (playing as France) fired back eleven minutes later with a goal by Mbappe. The back and forth contined with Haaland scoring in the 44th minute which was matched by Benzema in the 54th. Then Mbappe gave DSC the lead, but Haaland tied the game once again in the 73rd minute.

It looked as if the two teams would draw, but Mbappe completed his hat trick off of a header in the 90th minute to give the Crush the win.

Mumbai's games with the Renegade will be rescheduled for Week 7 but in the meantime they will look to even their season series with the Crush when they travel to France for the second half of their series.

The Crush Sweep Back

Though they might have been swept away in Finals last year, Dave's Secret Crush (playing as France) got some retribution on their fellow finalist the Germonkeys (playing as Bayern) in this year's regular season sweeping the home and home series.

Having previously won the game at Germonkeys home field they replicated the result and the scoreline at home defeating the defending champs 2-1.

As was the case in their first meeting, the Germonkeys opened up the scoring, netting a goal by Musiala in the 27th minute. But, once again, the Crush answered back with a pair of goals, the first by Pogba just 3 minutes later, and then Benzema score the game winner in the 64th minute off of a one-timed header.

The wim drops the Germonkeys down to 4th in the standings while vaulting the Crush just behind them in 5th.

Crush Edges Out Germonkeys in Finals Rematch

In a rematch from last year's Championship Series, Dave's Secret Crush (Playing as France) made a statement by going into the Germonkey's (playing as Manchester City) home stadium and defeating them 2-1.

Though the Germonkeys opened the scoring in the 6th minute with a goal by De Bruyne, the Crush were able to answer back with goals from Griezmann in the 21st minute and then again in the 71st minute to ultimately hold on for the victory.

Hartford City Appears Back to Form

In the second half of their home and home series Hartford City FC (playing as Liverpool) dominated the Red Card Renegade (playing as PSG) in their game in Paris.

Led by Nunez' two goal performance, Hartford secured the win by shutting down the powerful Renegade lineup. Salah opened the scoring with a goal in the 30th minute and they netted their final goal in the 69th minute off the foot of Fabinho.

The win moves Hartford up the standings into 2nd place, a spot that has been occupied by a bevy of teams of late, but as it stands currently they are edging out the Germonkeys by one in goal differential.

Germonkeys Take the Series from FC1603

In yet another tight battle, the Germonkeys once again found themselves on top, edging out rival FC1603. Switching from Bayern, the Germonkeys played their home half of the series using Manchester City. FC1603 remained with Chelsea.

Despite the change in team, the scoreline remained the same, as the Germonkeys pulled out a 3-2 victory to take all 6 points from FC1603 in their season series.

The loss catapults them into 2nd place at the start of week 3, while FC1603 drops one place to fall to 3rd, but there remains numerous games to be played in the third week, so that position could change quite dramatically by the end of the week.

Hartford City Prevails Over The Renegade in Back and Forth Battle

The Red Card Renegade (playing as PSG) traveled to Hartford City FC (playing as Liverpool) in the first half of their Week 2 Home and Home set.

The Renegade got off to a quick start scoring off of a beautiful one-timer in the second minute of the game. Hartford settled things down, as the two sides traded goals to even the score at 2-2, until the latter part of the second half when Hartford scored two goals in quick succession to secure the win 4-2.

Germonkeys Edge Out Win at FC1603

In a back and forth battle, the two roommates, fresh off the heels of their Game 7 OT Semifinal series in Hockey, resumed their rivalry in the a tight back and forth contest in at FC1603's home stadium.

Playing as Chelsea, FC1603 managed to keep pace with the Germonkeys but fell just short, losing the match 3-2. At the end of the contest the Germonkeys, who played as Bayern, the team they won their championship with, effectively kept the ball away from the 1603ers in the final minutes preventing them from leveling the score.

The two will meet up again in the 2nd half of the home and home as they jockey for position in the standings at the end of the first third of the season.

Doctor Soccer Remains Undefeated

In a highly anticipated match, Doctor Soccer (playing as France) defeated Hackettstown's Finest Football Club (playing as Manchester City) 2-1. The Doctor side, consisting of Hugo Loris, fresnel Kimpembe, Rafael Varane, Paul Pogba, Angola Conte, Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe, played with a positive mentality and executed the basics of pressing and movement well. The game saw some fantastic goalkeeping from both sides, with Paul Pogba and Bernardo Silva putting in some noteworthy performances.

The first half saw plenty of twists and turns, with both teams exchanging blows in a battle for the upper hand. Despite some close calls and high-quality saves, Doctor Soccer emerged with a 2-1 lead at the half-time whistle. The second half saw Doctor Soccer hold their ground and continue to put pressure on the Hackettstown defense.

Benzema's expert piece of finishing and Mbappe's quick thinking were the highlights of the match. Hackettstown's Holland provided the main goal scoring threat, but the Doctor Soccer defense held strong and their goalkeeper's fantastic reflexes kept the ball out of the back of the net.

In the end, Doctor Soccer emerged victorious, in what was a thrilling encounter that left them at undefeated at the top of the standings.

FC1603 Sweep Mumbai City to Grab Second Place

Mumbai City FC (playing as Man City) faced FC1603 (playing as Chelsea) in the second week of the 3rd season of Center League Soccer. It was an intense match with both teams playing with high energy and eager to come out on top. The FC1603 lineup, led by goalkeeper Eduard Mendy, started strong and put up a solid defense against Mumbai City. The midfield was dominated by the powerful combination of Georginio Wijnaldum and Antonio Conte.

In attack, Raheem Sterling proved to be a threat, but was unable to capitalize on the opportunities presented to him. Despite this, the FC1603 attack continued to press forward and it paid off in the form of a lovely goal. However, City was determined to respond quickly and came close to leveling the score, but the FC1603 defense held strong and prevented them from doing so.

The second half started with Mumbai facing a tough challenge, but they were lucky to avoid going down and had a chance to profit. Unfortunately, they struggled to be creative with their football and didn't pose too many questions to the FC1603 defense. Despite this, Mumbai had their moments with Kevin De Bruyne delivering an excellent performance, but in the end, the FC1603 keeper made a brilliant save to prevent them from scoring.

Overall, it was a well-fought match with both teams putting up a good performance. However, in the end, it was FC1603 who came out on top with a solid defense, powerful midfield, and relentless attack. This was a great win for Chelsea, who will look to carry this momentum into their next match against the Germonkeys.

Doctor Soccer Dominates HFFC in Clash of the Top 2 in the Standings

In a highly anticipated match, Doctor Soccer (playing as France) dominated Hackettstown's Finest Football Club (playing as Liverpool) 6-1. Lead by Karim Benzema who scored a hat trick with goals in the 40th, 45th and 87th minute controlled the game from late in the first half on.

The game started out close with each team feeling one another out, but once the first goal was scored the floodgates opened. Mbappe continued his scoring streak, netting 2 second half goals, and Griezmann contributed a goal in the waning minutes of the game.

Mumbai Dominated at Home

Mumbai City FC (playing as Argentina) took on FC1603 (playing as Chelsea) in the 3rd Season Center League Soccer, and it was a game that promised to be full of excitement. Emilio Martinez was the goalkeeper for Mumbai, with Lionel Messi leading the front line along with Angel Di Maria on the flanks and Lautaro Martinez leading the line. FC1603 had Eduard Mendy starting in goal, and the defense was composed of Aspilicueta and Calidou Kunibali, with Goto Kante and Giorgino in the center of midfield.

The first half was dominated by FC1603, with the opening goal coming from their star striker early on. The goal was a well-placed shot that beat the keeper at the near post. Sterling showed his strength and skill by moving the ball forward with purpose, but it was ultimately denied by the Mumbai keeper. However, the Mumbai defense was caught off guard, allowing Kante to increase FC1603's lead to two.

The second half saw Mumbai put up a determined effort to make a comeback, but their attempts were thwarted by solid defending from FC1603. Sterling continued to be a difficult player to stop, but the defense was able to keep him at bay.

The Finest Upset the Crush; Move into 2nd Place Setting Up a Battle with 1st Place Doctor Soccer

The match between Hackettstown's Finest (playing as Liverpool) and Dave's Secret Crush (playing as Paris Saint-Germain) at Anfield was an entertaining spectacle from start to finish. PSG dominated the first half with their fluid attacking play, with Lionel Messi opening the scoring with a well-placed shot. Liverpool made a valiant effort to equalize, but it wasn't until the second half that they managed to level the score with a goal from Mo Salah.

The Crush remained a force to be reckoned with their defense holding strong, neutralizing the Finest's attacks, and their counter-attacks were swift and devastating. Neymar, who provided a sumptuous pass in the second half, was a constant threat to the Liverpool defense.

In the end, though, the Finest had the last laugh as they emerged victorious with a hard-fought win. The match was a testament to the quality of both teams, and it will be remembered as one of the highlights of this season's Center League Soccer.

Fans were treated to a display of excellent goalkeeping, with both keepers pulling off some incredible saves. The defense was also on point, with Ramos, Ferreira, and Kimi making some crucial tackles and interceptions.

The Crush and Finest Evenly Matched in First Game of Season

Dave's Secret Crush faced Hackettsown's Finest in Paris in the opening match for each team of the 3rd Season of Center League Soccer. The Crush's lineup included Donaruma in goal, Marquinhos and Sergio Ramos in central defense, Messi out wide and Mbappe up front. Hackettown's Finest started with Ederson in goal, Walker and Cancello as fullbacks, Grealish and Mares on the flanks and providing the main goal threat.

The first half was dominated by the Finest, with Holland scoring the opening goal. The Crush tried to fight back in the second half with Neymar firing in a shot, but the keeper made a brilliant save. Despite controlling possession for much of the second half, the Crush were unable to find the back of the net and the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

WEHO ENDS GOATS UNBEATEN STREAK

The Hartford Yard Goats' perfect season came to an end on Tuesday night, as they were defeated 2-0 by the WEHO Pitchers. The Goats entered the game with a 10-0 record, but were unable to overcome a two-run homer by Randy Tellez in the top of the first inning. Despite the loss, the Goats still lead the Center Baseball League with a 10-1 record.

WEHO Pitchers' Corbin Burns nearly threw a perfect game, with the only hit coming in the bottom of the 9th inning when Yasmani Grandal hit a double with 1 out on a 2-2 count. Devin Williams was brought in to close out the game, striking out the first batter he faced before getting Tim Anderson to ground out to the shortstop for a 4-pitch save.

The loss was a tough one for the Goats, but they will look to bounce back in their next game as they continue their homestand. The Pitchers, on the other hand, improved to 8-7 on the season, leapfrogging the Megalomaniacs for 3rd place in the league and only 4 games out of the top spot.
